I travelled to Melbourne yesterday to provide training to a number of Storman clients, as well as attend the Self Storage Association of Australia’s (SSAA’s) Melbourne Meeting & Dinner last night.
The venue was the Kobe Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant and, not having partaken in Teppanyaki before, I quickly learned what the paper bibs were for! The food was fantastic, but it was the ‘performances’ by each of our chefs that made the night – I have some additional photos (and videos) for you at the end of this post.
Given the type of venue, it was a little tricky for the SSAA to have a guest speaker, so the event was primarily for networking – but we did get to see a preview of the SSAA’s upcoming Summit on Hayman Island (13 – 15 August 2013) and hear from the SSAA’s legal counsel Simone Hill on a number of issues – including an update on the PPSR.
The PPSR is very important – failure to check it before you cut the lock on a bad-paying storers unit could result in large financial losses for your business if a claim is made by a company which has an interest registered against a storer.
For more details on the PPSR, please read my separate post on the importance of checking the PPSR…but for now, enjoy my photos & videos from the SSAA regional meeting in Melbourne, below. Thanks for reading!
