Last Thursday brought together self storage association members and suppliers from the Auckland region for yet another wonderful night of networking at the Rydges Rooftop Terrace in Auckland CBD. Thanks to SSAA (Self Storage Association of Australasia) for putting together a great event. Both Jonathon Wildon, from Storman’s Auckland office, and I had a great time at the event and we enjoyed meeting you all there.
The evening kicked-off to a great start with some pre-dinner drinks, followed by a presentation from guest speaker Darryl King from Jackson Russell Lawyers, New Zealand. Darryl took us through some recent legal cases involving false or misleading advertising.
It was a great opportunity to learn the importance of substantiating claims made in advertising, where for example, someone says “We are ‘the most secure storage facility in XYZ region” without proper substantiation.
Darryl also took some questions from the group, too. An interesting one came up relating to who’s at fault when it comes to damage caused to a storer’s goods by a rat! We ended the night with a buffet-style dinner and dessert. You can check out some more photos from the event below.
