Before implementing Storman’s embedded bookings page, StoreStuff’s biggest challenge was pricing and availability of their storage units online. Originally, Thomas used an ‘Instant Quote’ page, which provided customers with a pricing estimate and a summary of facility features. However, whenever specific unit sizes sold out, he had to update the site’s backend manually. This process involved swapping information and editing HTML, a time-consuming task that was inefficient and created additional pressure.

The limitations in the booking process not only demanded Thomas’s time but also made it challenging to hand over tasks to other staff without significant training. The system restricted operational flexibility and became an obstacle in meeting customers’ needs for quick and accurate information on unit availability.

 

The OBJECTIVE:

StoreStuff’s main objective in integrating Storman’s embedded page onto their existing website, was to elevate the customer experience. Competing with nearby larger national storage brands, Thomas sought to provide real-time unit availability for customers who increasingly expect instant access to information. The goal was to meet modern consumer expectations by offering a seamless, transparent, and automated booking system.

Solution and Results:

Thomas adopted Storman Cloud nearly two years ago when he took over StoreStuff Self Storage. Previously familiar with Sitelink, he found it outdated and cumbersome, especially for training new employees. Storman Cloud, in contrast, allowed for an effortless transition uploading customer data easily and quickly operationalising the new system.

Storman’s embedded bookings feature has simplified the booking process and freed up Thomas’s time by automatically updating unit availability in real-time on StoreStuff’s website. Customers can now book units online without needing email or phone confirmations, enhancing the customer experience and increasing the likelihood of securing bookings in advance. As Thomas notes:

“Beforehand, we never really had bookings in advance. It was always the old-fashioned way of email/phone confirmation, which is never guaranteed. Now, customers can sign themselves up, all future-dated and synced in Storman.”

Thomas values Storman’s automatic payment system, likening it to Netflix’s approach. This feature ensures the security of a cleared funds payment through credit card upon signup and, once in storage – provides the customer the flexibility to select Credit card or Bank account debiting. This greatly reduces manual processing, giving him the freedom to step away during holiday periods.

In addition, StoreStuff benefits from regular updates and optional new features through Storman’s subscription model. The responsiveness of the Storman team to feedback has also been invaluable to Thomas, allowing him to adjust the platform to meet StoreStuff’s evolving business needs.

Thomas  now manages his premium facility with greater ease and flexibility, ensuring StoreStuff stands competitively among other established storage providers.
